The role As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be a senior manager in the Project Management Office (PMO) within our ISTAR & Cyber business area, responsible for leading a team of project management and support staff delivering a portfolio of tasks and projects across government contracts. Day-to-day, you’ll provide operational management of our project teams, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services to our customers. You’ll provide end-to-end delivery of complex projects throughout the project lifecycle, supporting customers from early requirements capture to delivery and handover. You’ll apply strong project management skills and methodologies to ensure consistency, quality, accountability, and high standards across the PMO, regularly presenting project performance to seniors and directors. You’ll apply appropriate and scalable project controls to all areas of your projects, including risk, financial, change, and stakeholder management, in-line with Babcock and APM methodologies. Providing overall operational and strategic management of the PMO, you’ll be responsible for personnel management of staff, workload balancing, and supporting recruitment. This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and is based on site at Ashchurch in Tewkesbury. Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency while ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager Extensive experience in Project Management. Experience working on complex engineering projects preferred. Defence and security experience is highly desirable. Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager APM Project Professional Qualification (SCQF Level 9, PMQ, PRINCE2/Project Management Institute (PMI), or equivalents. DV Security clearance.
