Organisation Development and Leadership Consultant

to join our forward-thinking Inclusion, Learning & OD Team at SECAmb for a 12-month fixed-term opportunity. In this role, you’ll act as an internal consultant, designing and delivering impactful OD interventions that align with our strategic goals. Working collaboratively and in partnership with leaders and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll advise on, lead, and support activities that enhance employee experience, strengthen organisational effectiveness, and foster an inclusive workplace. You’ll need exceptional expertise in organisational development practices, leadership coaching, and facilitation, paired with a flair for influencing and inspiring change. Creativity, initiative, and the ability to build strong relationships will be key to succeeding in this role. Main duties of the job

As an Organisation Development and Leadership Consultant, you will deliver initiatives that strengthen leadership, improve team effectiveness, and foster a collaborative, values-driven workplace. Partnering with leaders and teams, you will design and deliver Organisation Development (OD) interventions aligned with our strategic objectives to achieve measurable impact. What You’ll Be Doing: Act as a consultant, partnering with leaders to identify challenges and collaboratively design evidence-based OD interventions that drive sustainable change. Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and team sessions to inspire collaboration and embed our organisational values. Conduct diagnostics to identify barriers to cultural change and develop practical solutions. Use data and feedback to evaluate interventions, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with organisational goals. Exceptional facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage group dynamics. Analytical abilities to design and evaluate OD interventions using data-driven insights. Qualifications

Post Graduate professional qualification or equivalent level of experience. Degree or equivalent level of experience in a leadership, management, or team development, in a highly specialist OD related discipline/subject. Coaching & Mentoring Qualification or equivalent experience. Qualified or equivalent experience in project management processes. Specific Practitioner Accreditation e.g. MBTI, Insights Discovery, Hogan, HLM 360 Feedback CIPD Chartered Member. Knowledge

Thorough understanding of organisational culture principles, values, and dynamics, with the ability to assess cultural strengths and areas for improvement. Good awareness of diversity and inclusion principles, with the ability to navigate cultural differences sensitively and promote inclusive practices. Knowledge and prior use of the OD Consulting Cycle. Deep understanding of OD and management and leadership theories, including contemporary models and best practices, and the ability to apply these principles effectively. Experience

Experience of providing an internal OD consultancy service within an organisation, working with and influencing managers and leaders at all levels of the organisation. Experience designing, facilitating and delivering engaging and interactive workshops and focus groups, managing group dynamics, and encouraging active participation from all attendees. Proficiency in collecting feedback and evaluating workshop and intervention effectiveness, using data-driven insights to refine workshop content, future interventions, and delivery methods for continuous improvement. Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating a broad range of complex OD interventions and programmes to deliver improved outcomes. Evidence of successful development and implementation of cultural change to achieve improved performance and outcomes. Skills

Exceptional facilitation, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to design and deliver relevant and effective OD interventions, based on evidence, and needs of the individual, team, and organisation. Ability to receive and convey complex, sensitive, and sometimes contentious information. Effective organisational and time management skills. Ability to identify challenges or barriers to cultural change within the organisation and develop practical solutions or strategies to address them effectively. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate colleagues of all levels and from across the organisation. Ability to analyse complex and sometimes contradictory information to inform effective action. Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales.
