About the company

My client is a well-established service sector company with bases in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, and Oxfordshire. We are supporting them with the recruitment of an experienced Financial Controller to take control of the Finance team at their Head Office, outside of Tetbury, Gloucestershire. The ideal candidate must have a wealth of experience in managing the financial functions and associated transactions required in the company, along with the current team in situ.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities Manage and mentor a team Develop and maintain ongoing process improvements within the finance department Build relationships and work closely with the senior management team Oversee and report on month end, providing commentary, analysis, and KPIs Liaise with external accountants to produce financial statements, tax computations, tax claims, year end audits Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and Landfill Tax returns Manage, record and forecast all direct debit and standing order arrangements from the company's bank accounts Manage the company's hire purchase schedule to ensure it is regularly updated Manage the monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts and ensure systems are updated accurately Prepare and produce weekly forecasts and budgets Prepare and produce cashflow forecasts that will project the cash requirements of the business quarterly in advance Maintain and update the company's Asset Register Produce annual budgets across the whole company with the assistance of the senior management team Assist the directors with business plans based upon financial performance

Your Skills

Extremely well organised with excellent communication skills both verbally and written Ideally you will be a qualified accountant, with certification from a recognised body, such as ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW Have experience of working within an industry-based business as a Financial Controller, with project management skills This is an exciting time of expansion for the company and we are looking for a candidate who is looking to immerse themselves with 100% commitment into the role to take the company to the next level. Package depending on experience and qualifications but in the region of £65,000 - £75,000pa.
