The Opportunity

Step into a leadership role as

Wharf Manager

at our flagship site on the south coast in Portsmouth, where you’ll oversee all aspects of operations, from safety to financial management. This exciting position offers the chance to be at the forefront of new and innovative projects, contributing to the success of a key site in our network. With a Monday to Friday schedule and flexibility on working times, this role offers the perfect balance of responsibility and work-life balance. Lead a dynamic team, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations while driving operational excellence. Manage financial performance, including forecasting and month-end reporting, to ensure the site meets budgetary goals. Collaborate with sales and logistics teams to meet customer needs, coordinate vessel planning, and ensure material availability. Drive continuous improvement in safety practices, operations, and maintenance scheduling to keep the site running efficiently. Oversee staff training and development, ensuring all personnel are competent and prepared to meet the demands of the role. Lead site risk assessments, ensuring all activities comply with safety and environmental standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Who You Are

You’re a proactive leader with experience in managing complex operations, particularly in sand and gravel processing. Your ability to motivate teams, manage resources, and deliver results makes you an ideal candidate. Here’s what makes you a great fit: Strong knowledge of sand and gravel processing and the management of heavy mobile equipment. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and foster a collaborative, safety-focused environment. Proven ability to plan and prioritise effectively, ensuring the site meets operational and customer expectations. Results-driven, problem solver and customer-focused, with a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence. IT literate and capable of using internal systems to manage performance and maintain accurate records, being able to use systems such as Google Suite and Excel. Benefits
