Actuarial Project Manager (Partial Internal Model) Responsibilities
Overall direction, co-ordination, and control of the Partial Internal Model (PIM) project to agreed company standards. Lead and deliver PIM project to defined criteria and stakeholder satisfaction. Perform project planning and scheduling. Collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to agree the delivery plan, including resourcing and IT requirements. Develop, draft and edit technical PIM documentation. Manage budgets and lead resources to achieve quality and timelines. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables. Monitor progress, manage risks, and escalate issues as appropriate. Motivate and empower the team to meet their objectives, coaching, guiding and supporting as required. Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions. Communicate with senior management and project governance authorities with the frequency and formality that they require. Maintain and develop relationships, controls and oversight of third party suppliers during the project process. Maintain competence and fitness and propriety standards to the level required by the Company’s regulators. Ad hoc tasks as required. Comply with the FCA’s conduct (and senior conduct) and Consumer Duty rules and the PRA’s conduct (and senior manager conduct) standards as set out. Notify the regulator(s) of matters reasonably expected to be notified. Core Competencies
Technical actuarial knowledge relevant to the development and delivery of a PIM. Ability to develop, draft and edit technical actuarial/PIM documentation. Good presentation, communication, delegation, negotiation, conflict management skills. Excellent planner and organiser. Critical thinking and problem solving skills. Facilitator and coach, able to bring the best from a team. Influential and able to build productive relationships at all levels. Pragmatic, adaptable and flexible. Experience and Qualifications
Mandatory:
Technical knowledge of actuarial/financial systems and processes and/or Partial Internal Models. Experience in people, risk and change management within roles as a project lead. Desirable:
Knowledge of, and experience in, theoretical and practical aspects of project management, techniques and tools e.g. qualification in project management.
