Carer Support Hub Group Leaders and Helpers Administration Assistance
Summary We are looking for new Leaders to run our groups in Berkhamsted, Chorleywood and Bishops Stortford.
Detailed description WHERE, WHEN, HOW OFTEN
You will carry out this role at the Hub venue approximately four hours a month. The Hub groups meet once a month for two hours at an agreed and regular time. There will be some administration and record keeping which you can do from home, for example sending the register to the Hub Co-ordinator.
ROLE
Arriving at the venue before the meeting to set up.
Liaise with other Hub volunteers to agree tasks.
Welcoming carers to the meeting, taking a register and noting details of new carers to be registered with Carers in Hertfordshire.
Helping the group to agree the programme for each meeting, facilitating the meeting and helping the group keep to the rules it has agreed.
Referring carer queries to Carers in Hertfordshire’s Carer Support Advisors or Hub Co-ordinators.
Closing the meeting, tidying and locking up the venue if necessary.

An understanding of the experience of caring.
Interest in improving support for unpaid carers in your local area.
A desire to do something worthwhile and contribute to your community.
Good communication skills, confidence in speaking in front of a group and the ability to motivate yourself.
Ability to get on well with other people and enjoy working with others.
Good organisational skills.

Ensuring Hertfordshire's carers are identified, supported and stay well, is at the heart of our work. We give carers a voice with opportunities to meet other carers. We also enable carers to share their views or experiences with those providing or planning health and social care services in Hertfordshire.
We support carers of all ages - children and adults - if they live, work or care in Hertfordshire. Our services are provided free to carers.
We also have a Care Service in Hertsmere, Three Rivers and Watford, which involves professional Care Support Workers providing individual packages of care to people with care needs through domiciliary care or Carers' Breaks.
