Job overview

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a Specialty doctor or a doctor with experience equivalent to ST3 in Acute and General Medicine to have a focused 3 year post with the aim of achieving entry to the specialist register at the end. Successful applicants will undergo rigorous training in the acute medicine curriculum. This curriculum will cover essential topics including but not limited to acute care principles, emergency management, and critical care procedures. To enrich learning experience and broaden their skillset, individuals will also rotate through various specialties such as cardiology, respiratory, rheumatology, neurology, emergency medicine, and intensive care unit (ITU). These rotations will offer exposure to diverse patient populations and medical scenarios, enhancing clinical acumen and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Main duties of the job

The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) has 51 beds and provides quick and efficient assessment, treatment, and medical care for patients. The Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) has 7 beds and focuses on directly referred GP patients as well as those referred by the Emergency Department team. Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) allows specialists to care for patients within the same day of arrival as an alternative to hospital admission. The Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) operates 24/7, providing rapid assessment, investigation, and treatment for patients admitted by the Emergency Department and those referred by General Practitioners. Qualifications and training

Full GMC Registration Acute and General medicine training equivalent to completion of ST3 Skills and experience

Clinical training and experience at a level consistent with senior specialty trainees ST3 Minimum of English Level 2 (GCSE Grade C or equivalent), IELTS, or Graduate of a UK Medical School Proficiency in managing a comprehensive range of medical conditions Evidence of training in management/leadership skills Experience in audit and management practices We have a relocation policy for eligible candidates, parking available at Trust sites, and we encourage other options like car sharing or public transport.
