Mental Health Healthcare Assistant (MHSW) - Band 3 - BHRUT The staff bank at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University hospitals, one of London’s most celebrated teaching Trusts, are seeking a highly experienced Mental Health Support Worker (MHSW) to work across their hospitals as a part of their Integrated Therapies multidisciplinary team. BHRUT provides outstanding healthcare for a population of more than 750,000 people across their most diverse London Boroughs and Southwest Essex and is renowned for its reputation as one of the UK’s largest teaching trusts. A centre of excellence, BHRUT operates from two main sites – King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford – as well as overseeing several clinics in the local area and providing specialist care across their regional Neuroscience Centre, Radiotherapy Centre, Hyper Acute Stroke Unit, and dedicated breast care services. The MHSW is responsible for providing care and therapeutic support to patients and their families in conjunction with the Specialist Mental Health Practitioner and directed by members of the wider multidisciplinary network, including from within the Paediatric, Adult and Older People’s Mental Health Liaison Service. The MHSW works with learning disability liaison teams and alcohol liaison teams. The MHSW will work closely with patients who are prescribed 1 to 1 care and who may need care with physical interventions. The ability to be trained in, and carry out physical interventions is a core requirement of this role. Important Requirements: At least 6 months

Mental Health experience within an NHS acute ward

settings in the last 3 years. Able to provide 3 years of references. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A caring, empathetic approach to all patients. A proactive and professional work ethic.
