What is the job role?
As Basecamp Manager at SunGod’s flagship London store, you’ll take full ownership of running the store, leading a motivated team, and delivering exceptional experiences for our customers. This hands-on role will see you actively involved in the day-to-day running of the store, including being present on the shop floor serving customers and hosting community events. You’ll lead the set-up of the new store, build a strong team, and create a space that reflects SunGod’s values. With the combination of a successful store and a successful individual, this role has the opportunity to become a full-time position within a high-growth brand as we continue our retail channel. Key Responsibilities: Take the lead in completing the store's opening and fit-out, finalise and establish operations and processes, hire and onboard the new team, and ensure the store is set up for success from day one. Take full responsibility for the store’s performance, from setting up daily operations and driving sales performance to meet and exceed targets. Oversee all aspects of store management, including opening and closing procedures, inventory, and sales tracking. Be a visible presence on the shop floor, delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering strong team engagement. Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints to maintain SunGod’s reputation as a customer-first brand. Recruit, onboard, train, and manage the Basecamp London team, creating a positive and motivating environment. Plan and host community events aligned with SunGod’s mission and values. Leverage social media and other online channels to drive footfall and sales. Work closely with SunGod’s Marketing Team to execute in-store promotions and increase the store’s online presence. Ensure Basecamp Stores comply with all health and safety regulations. Understand SunGod’s triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit, and incorporate this into your job role every day. Who are we looking for?
The ideal person has the following skills, experiences and competencies: Exceptional customer service skills, with a track record of delivering outstanding in-store experiences. Proven retail management experience, including team leadership and ownership of store performance. Hands-on experience in store operations, including inventory management, sales tracking, and health and safety compliance. Experience leveraging online and offline channels to drive footfall and increase sales. A passion for the performance sports and outdoor industries. Experience managing the opening and fit-out of a new retail store is desirable. Enthusiasm for SunGod’s mission and values, with a proactive approach to promoting the brand.
