This role offers you the chance to shape groundbreaking projects and provides significant career development in both technical and people management disciplines. As the RF Team Lead, you’ll work alongside other team leads, technical experts, and the group lead to deliver cutting-edge RF designs for some of the UK’s most ambitious and complex defence projects. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that these projects meet rigorous standards and are delivered on time and within budget. If you combine technical knowledge with a natural flair for leadership, this role is perfect for you. In this position, you will: Take ownership of work packages, providing day-to-day leadership to drive high performance and team cohesion. Deliver complex RF designs across a broad frequency range (30MHz to 30GHz), with hands-on experience in designing and testing components such as LNA Amplifiers, High Power Amplifiers, filters, oscillators, modulators, and more. Use advanced design tools (like Microwave Office and HFSS) for RF and antenna design, while ensuring robust layout and manufacturing readiness. Lead both the technical and functional aspects of the team, inspiring colleagues and pushing for excellence. Manage and coordinate project tasks, ensuring on-time, on-cost, and on-quality delivery with tools like Excel, P6, or MS Project. To excel in this RF Team Lead role, you should bring: A proven track record in RF design at the component level, and hands-on expertise with RF circuit design across a wide frequency spectrum. Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams in a cross-functional environment. A comprehensive understanding of modern Radio Transceiver Systems, including digital, analogue, and power supply design. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including design for manufacture and test. Practical project management experience that keeps deliverables on track. Why This Role Stands Out: Career Growth: Outstanding progression opportunities in either technical expertise or people management. Hybrid Work Flexibility: Typically, you’ll work three days a week on-site. Financial Rewards: An attractive salary of circa £75,000, up to 21% bonus potential, and a pension contribution of up to 14%. Enhanced Leave: Supportive policies for maternity, adoption, paternity, and fertility-related leave. Facilities and Perks: Fantastic on-site facilities like subsidised meals and free parking.
