August 27, 2024 My client is a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor. They are presently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis, a Contracts Manager with a solid background in Civil Engineering and Groundworks Projects. They operate throughout Southwestern England and specialise in residential infrastructure projects for some of the UK's leading developers. The Counties covered include Somerset, Avon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire. Those individuals residing around Reading, Newbury, Chippenham and Bristol would be ideally located for the current works, although those further afield would also be of interest. Therefore, my client is ideally seeking an individual that resides in the region and has good access around the M4 / M5 corridor. You must be a driven individual with extensive experience within drainage, foundations, residential groundworks, and ideally S278 experience. These projects are generally valued at between £1m and 10m. Duties:

Management of the Project/Site Manager, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Production of monthly reports and liaising with the Senior QS (Quantity Surveyor), Site QS. Ensure production, review, and monitor the delivery of the project/site health, safety, environment & quality plans. Develop effective relationships with clients to maximise the perception & reputation of the business and secure profitable work. Taking responsibility for a contract at handover from the estimator. Plan & monitor resource requirements. Promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement, and use of best practice. Being the first point of reference for leadership site issues. Civil Engineering experience required:

Strong knowledge of groundworks and civil engineering projects. HSE (Health and Safety Executive) legislation knowledge.
