The Management Accountant is a vital member of the Finance team, working closely with the Head of Finance, team colleagues, and department heads across the organisation. This role offers a high degree of flexibility, affording the successful candidate the opportunity to work from home predominantly with a minimum requirement of 1 day in the office per month, whilst also giving a clear path for progression in the near future to a Head of Finance position. There will also be the opportunity to travel to their sites in areas of Scotland that many do not get the opportunity to do in normal working routines. The role The Management Accountant will oversee financial planning, monitoring, and reporting within the organisation. They will work in collaboration with the Head of Finance and other department heads in areas such as Curriculum, Infrastructure, HR, and Marketing to ensure that targets and objectives, as outlined in the operational plan, are achieved efficiently. Key Responsibilities Prepare financial plans, budgets, and projections for various departments. Produce financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance standards. Analyse financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations to management. Collaborate with department heads to review financial data and provide strategic decision-making support. Act as a key liaison for external auditors and assist with the annual accounts audit process. Manage the internal audit process, ensuring alignment with governance requirements. Maintain and improve financial reporting systems for all organisational activities. Support the Finance team to implement and uphold effective financial processes and controls. Candidate requirements Qualified or part-qualified accountant, ideally with experience in the public or not-for-profit sector. Strong financial technical skills are essential, Excellent communication, organisational skills, high numeracy, attention to detail, and strong IT proficiency Remuneration Salary: Up to GBP50,700 DOE Pension: 17.6% Employer Pension Contribution Holidays: 45 Days
