Stanton House are working with a dynamic finance team in the retail services sector who are looking to hire a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Financial Accountant. You will manage the company's tax compliance, accounting, and strategy while providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes. A deep understanding of tax regulations and financial principles is essential for this role, as well as the ability to excel in both independent and collaborative environments.

Salary - £65,000 - £75,000 (depending on experience) + bonus & wider benefits

Location - Birmingham (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit corporate tax returns ensuring full compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial statements to identify potential areas for tax savings and improvements in compliance. Investigate ways to improve VAT recoverability and accountability. Collaborate with finance team members to compile detailed financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Drive Capital Allowances process change. Advise management on the tax implications of strategic business decisions and various transactions. Stay updated with changes in tax legislation and regulations to ensure the company's continued compliance. Contribute to the annual budgeting process and perform variance analysis to support effective financial planning. Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to facilitate audits and ensure accurate reporting. Manage the reconciliation of tax accounts and the preparation of related documentation to support accurate financial records. Requirements

ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified. Ideally 3 years or more experience in tax accounting or financial accounting role. Strong knowledge of tax regulations and financial reporting standards. Hands-on experience with preparing corporation tax computations and VAT returns. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting ERP systems. If you have the skill set required, or would like further information, please apply below.
