Salary from £50,788 per annum to £54,928 per annum Full-time – 37 hours a week Hybrid / Flexible working (approx. 2 days will be required on site/office per week) Pension scheme – 19% total contribution (you pay approximately 6.5%) and by joining the scheme this includes Death in service cover of 3 x your salary Annual leave – 26 days plus bank holidays increasing to 31 days after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays AND you can buy additional leave should you need to! Employee Assistance scheme, store discounts, flexi hours scheme, childcare For this exciting opportunity, we are seeking a driven and experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic team at Sheffield City Council and lead the charge in transforming our finance systems and processes. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our finance systems, while also spearheading strategic initiatives to modernise and streamline our financial operations. What you will be doing in the role: Be an architect of our financial systems: Lead the development, implementation, and optimisation of our financial systems architecture. Partner for success: Collaborate with the Finance and Technology colleagues to design and implement best-in-class financial processes aligned with strategic objectives. Safeguard financial integrity: Champion data integrity, security, and compliance within financial systems, mitigating risks and safeguarding financial information. Empower informed decisions: Drive innovation in financial reporting and management information, providing reporting capabilities to extract insights for informed decision-making. Champion efficiency: Proactively identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, leveraging technology to streamline operations. Lead successful transitions: Take a leading role in system upgrades and implementations, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption and comprehensive user training. In this leadership position, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of our financial systems. You will also drive process improvements, deliver actionable insights, and champion best practices. We are looking for the following skills/experience: Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role with a focus on financial systems and processes. A recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) demonstrating Continued Professional Development. Proficiency in financial management systems (e.g., Integra Centros, Oracle, SAP) with experience of working with finance systems (implementation, administration, and configuration). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in leading and managing a team. Excellent communication and people skills to build strong relationships across departments and stakeholders.
