Dependent on experience Are you a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Manager looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive and thriving secondary school? We are seeking a passionate individual to join our team and help shape the well-being and development of our students.

About the Role

As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting student welfare, and ensuring every child feels supported and valued. This long-term role requires a compassionate, proactive professional who can start immediately and commit through the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership in supporting student well-being, behaviour, and personal development. Work closely with students, parents, and staff to address pastoral issues, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for learning. Develop and implement strategies to manage and improve student attendance and punctuality. Respond to and manage safeguarding concerns in line with school policies. Maintain accurate and confidential records of pastoral interventions. Liaise with external agencies to provide additional support for students when necessary. Support the transition process for new and returning students to ensure a smooth integration into the school community.

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar Pastoral Manager role within a secondary school setting. Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to upholding student welfare. A valid DBS certificate registered on the Update Service. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and parents. Proven ability to manage behaviour and resolve conflicts effectively. Organisational skills to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
