About the Role: We are seeking a diligent and proactive Regulatory Affairs Advisor for one of our clients, to manage the regulatory compliance challenges in the food sector across both the UK and EU markets. The successful candidate will serve as the pivotal link between internal teams and regulatory frameworks, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Regulatory Compliance: Provide comprehensive regulatory guidance and technical support to team members. Stay abreast of regulatory updates and implement necessary changes within the company swiftly. Oversee the process of product certifications and approvals, including necessary communications with the Soil Association through emails and their online platform. Artwork & Labelling Compliance: Supervise the creation, review, and modification of product labels to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements of the UK and EU. Manage translation tasks for labels and marketing materials to support multi-regional sales. Approve final proofs from printers and oversee the artwork management process using the InMotion system. New Product Development (NPD): Confirm all new product formulations, label content, and marketing claims comply with relevant UK and EU regulations. Evaluate health and nutrition claims against regulatory standards and industry practices. Supervise compliance aspects of marketing elements like sales banners and front-panel presentations. Support for Import/Export Logistics Provide essential technical guidance on products of animal origin and composite goods. Assist with commodity codes and facilitate streamlined import/export processes Training & Documentation: Participate in the development of Labelling Guidelines to ensure uniformity and compliance across all products. Ad Hoc Support: Undertake additional regulatory or technical tasks as needed to align with business objectives. Qualifications and Experience Required: Degree in Food Technology, Food Law, Food Science, Food Safety, or a related field. In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards related to food supplements, including claims usage in the UK and EU. Proven experience in drafting product specifications and formulating products. Familiarity with standard practices within the food industry. Previous experience with Amazon trading platforms is preferred. Ability to work autonomously, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with robust communication and time management skills. Capable of effectively liaising with various departments such as NPD, QA, and Design to meet organisational demands. Prior experience with the food supplement notification process in EU Member States is a plus. Knowledge of the regulatory framework for cosmetics is beneficial. Advanced proficiency in IT systems.
