Job Summary

Looking to expand your psychological skills with training opportunities? This is an exciting time to join our expanding team of qualified and in-training psychological professionals to work with Adults. We are looking for a reflective clinical psychologist who can work with enthusiasm and creativity.

You will be supported by a consultant clinical psychologist, and there can be formalised training opportunities for the successful candidate such as structured clinical management. We particularly welcome those interested in supporting the teams to mobilise a complex emotional needs pathway for adults, or those with a flair for working with individuals with complex emotional needs/trauma.

Main Duties of the Job

Accountable for own professional practice in the delivery of specialist care to clients with complex emotional or mental health needs. To provide psychological assessment and formulation of clients with highly complex conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of data from a variety of sources. To provide (where appropriate) clinical supervision and training to colleagues within the designated psychology service and to other members of the multidisciplinary team. To be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients, their carers, and families. (Where appropriate) to undertake formal research/service evaluations and, where suitably trained, to act as field supervisor for doctorate clinical psychology trainees. To be pro-active in continual service improvement. To promote, at all times, a positive image of people with mental health difficulties, of the adult and psychology services and the wider Trust.

Person Specification

Qualifications, Training, and Experience

Essential

HCPC Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (upon qualification). Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS. Evidence of continuing professional development and willingness to expand upon skills through training. Experience with, or a strong interest in, working with clients of working age in a position of crisis. Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees/junior psychological professionals. Desirable

Post-graduate training or CPD in an area that aligns with practice in adult inpatient settings. Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological therapeutic practice such as structured clinical management, DBT, CAT, or EMDR. Experience of delivering groups informed by CBT or DBT.
