Barnet

as part of a multi-disciplinary team offering specialist clinical interventions to people who use our services. The role comes with a generous salary of up to

£44,906 p/a , dependent on experience.

As a Dual Diagnosis Specialist Nurse, you will undertake specialist mental health assessments. You will work closely with the local NHS trusts to improve access and engagement with mental health services and substance misuse support. Your aim will be to reduce the burden on emergency and healthcare services and improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and their families.

In your first few weeks in this Dual Diagnosis Specialist Nurse role, you can expect to:

Provide bespoke interventions for identified service users, with the aim of engaging people in the most appropriate service for their needs, reducing re-presentations and bringing about positive client outcomes. Support the development of joint working protocols with mental health services and substance misuse services. Review service users presenting to services and undertake specialist mental health assessments as required. Identify the training and support needs of colleagues working with this group of service users and deliver training or provide support as appropriate.

To apply for this Specialist Nurse role, you will need to be a first-level registered nurse with recent relevant post-qualification experience and a current PIN. You will also require the following:

The ability to assess and recovery plan service users and formulate written reports, as necessary. Clinical and auditing skills to inform the evaluation of the service and identify areas for development. A professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users. A clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.
