Are you ready to inspire the next generation of geographers? A secondary school in Southsea is seeking a full-time Geography teacher to join their team from September 2025.

The school recognises the challenges its students face and is dedicated to ensuring every pupil can flourish through the education they are provided. They are looking for a dedicated educator who is not only passionate about Geography but also about inspiring and supporting students to reach their potential.

Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and well-structured Geography lessons that inspire and challenge students.

Teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for A-Level teaching if applicable.

Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

Develop and implement effective lesson plans and schemes of work aligned with the curriculum.

Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.

Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in school events, extracurricular activities, and departmental meetings.

Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching strategies.

Uphold the school’s values and policies, including those related to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.

Experience:

At least six months of teaching experience in the UK.

Education:

A degree in Geography or a related subject.

Skills:

Strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.

Commitment:

A dedication to professional development and improving student outcomes.

Passion:

A genuine enthusiasm for Geography and a commitment to making the subject accessible and exciting for all learners.
