Summary
Eton Town Council is seeking to appoint an innovative, forward-thinking, and proactive Town Clerk & RFO to drive the Council forward. The Town Clerk & RFO will ensure that the instructions of the Council are carried out and will work actively with elected members to develop services.
The Town Council has undertaken numerous projects and improvements locally and continues to drive an ambitious programme of growth, aiming to provide the very best services and facilities for residents and visitors.
The Town Clerk & RFO will play a key role in delivering the aims and objectives of the Town Council. The post holder will be the Proper Officer of the Council, with all the responsibilities that accompany this critical and prestigious role.
Applicants must demonstrate relevant experience, including a track record of people management and development, managing budgets and financial issues, service achievement and innovation, a commitment to public service, and possess sound managerial, communication, and organisational skills.
It is preferable that candidates have a level of local government experience and knowledge, though this will not automatically disqualify any outstanding candidate. A Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification is required as a minimum, or a commitment to attain it at the earliest possible time after appointment.
The position is based at the Town Council Offices in Eton, contracted for 26.5 hours per week, including evening meetings with additional time as required.
