We're excited to recruit an experienced Locum Social Worker for a well-organised and highly supportive Long-Term Child Protection Team. This role offers a balanced workload, strong managerial support, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference for children and families in a less pressured setting.
The Role
As part of this dedicated Long-Term CP team, you'll work with families to implement child protection and child in need plans while focusing on delivering high-quality outcomes. With a manageable caseload of no more than 15 children, you'll have the time and resources to build meaningful relationships and provide effective interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a mixed caseload of Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline (PLO) cases. Developing clear, outcome-focused care plans to ensure children's safety and well-being. Preparing well-structured reports for child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings. Undertaking regular statutory visits and facilitating multi-agency meetings. Working collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, and other stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a social worker who is committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families, with the confidence and expertise to manage complex cases effectively.
Essential Requirements
Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, or equivalent). Current Social Work England (SWE) registration. A minimum of 2 years' experience in child protection or safeguarding teams. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices. Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
