We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist to work in our team of Clinical and Forensic Psychologists for a period of 12 months.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within our secure hospital which provides both low and medium secure services providing medium and long-term treatment and input to patients with mental health difficulties, personality disorder and learning disability. In addition, there will be the potential to contribute to the delivery of community-based forensic services.

The post holder will be involved in the completion of administrative tasks for the psychology department, desk-based tasks such as reviewing documentation, developing file-based formulations and updating records. It will also include the delivery of psycho-education and/or treatment groups, individual work with patients, the administration and interpretation of psychometrics, and some audit and service evaluation work. There may be further tasks and requirements depending on clinical and departmental need.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and have a high level of organisational skill, an ability to manage a demanding workload with competing priorities and have a particular interest in working with a forensic population. You will support the work of the qualified team, clinically and administratively. You will need to be a keen team-player, have good IT skills and exceptional communication abilities.

Minimum Requirements:

A degree level qualification (BSc or BA) accredited by the BPS is essential for this post.
