Job Description
Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
Ensure all activities are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead and manage the Risk and Compliance team.
Provide strategic advice to the Board on risk management and compliance matters.
Responsible for the firm's Practice Wide Risk Assessment and ongoing update.
Conduct risk assessments and compliance audits.
Supporting junior colleagues, fee earners and secretaries with complex client due diligence requirements and additional ad hoc queries regarding source of funds/conflicts of interest etc.
Develop training programs on risk management and compliance issues.
Handle any escalated complaints or disputes relating to risk and compliance.
Continuously improve the risk management and compliance functions of the organisation.
The Successful Applicant
A successful 'Head of Risk and Compliance' should have:
A degree in law, business, or a related field.
Experience in a senior risk and compliance role, preferably within the legal industry.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in risk management.
Strong knowledge and understanding of SRA regulations including those related to AML and Conflicts.
Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
