Secondment opportunity to work within the Safeguarding team at UHNM as the named nurse for safeguarding children and young people. The post holder will, as part of the UHNM Safeguarding team, provide a Trust-wide overview of all children/young people safeguarding matters and co-ordinate all issues and processes concerning safeguarding. Main Duties of the Job

Provide a Trust-wide overview of all children/young people safeguarding matters, coordinating all issues and processes concerning safeguarding, providing specialist advice and information. Contribute to the development of internal safeguarding policies, guidelines, and protocols. Effectively communicate local safeguarding knowledge, research, and findings from audits and challenge poor practice. Facilitate and contribute to own organisation audits, multi-agency audits, and statutory inspections. Organise, plan and deliver Safeguarding training to staff across UHNM. Undertake/contribute to serious case/case management reviews, including the development and implementation of action plans. Effectively work with colleagues across the trust and from other organisations, including the Police, the Local Authority, the Local Safeguarding Children's Boards (LSCB), and other LSCB partners. Work with the Safeguarding team to identify and support safeguarding supervision and reflective practice for staff across the Trust. Participate in LSCB sub-groups, as directed by the Lead Nurse - Safeguarding. Work with the Lead Nurse - Safeguarding and the Lead for Vulnerable Patients to support safeguarding quality assurance and improvement processes. Qualifications

Diploma or degree in nursing studies. ENB 997/998 or equivalent or experience of teaching in clinical areas. Leadership/management course. Experience

Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience. 1 year experience in a leadership role. Formal teaching experience. Experience in Safeguarding/complex cases. Other Skills

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
