As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will work within a multidisciplinary team, providing expert health advice and delivering a proactive, comprehensive occupational health service to Wiltshire Police. Your work will directly contribute to the promotion and maintenance of physical and mental health across the Force, ensuring employees can perform their roles safely and effectively.

This is a full-time permanent role, Monday to Friday (8.30 – 16:30 or 9:00 – 17:00).

What you will be doing

Deliver services in line with current policies and practices under the guidance of the Head of Occupational Health. Provide medical advice to reduce workplace incidents, liaising with Health and Safety teams as required. Monitor factors affecting mental health, safety, and welfare, and refer cases as appropriate. Support sickness absence management and advise on health concerns. Develop and deliver physical and mental health awareness programs, aligning with national and local initiatives. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with managers, external agencies, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to relevant legislation at all times. Manage your own caseload, conducting clinical assessments independently. Provide evidence-based advice on physical and mental health issues, ensuring fitness for work and suggesting reasonable adjustments where necessary. Stay updated on local and national occupational health trends, maintaining professional development in line with NMC guidelines. Compile and present reports on occupational health matters, highlighting areas of concern to leadership. About you and your experience

Registered General Nurse with a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health. Comprehensive experience in occupational health nursing. Experience in managing complex cases and providing health screening. Excellent interpersonal, administrative, and organisational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to analyse data and produce reports. Experience in an emergency services setting would be desirable. Awareness of workplace health & safety, equality, and diversity issues. Understanding of Data Protection and confidentiality requirements. What we offer
