Job Title Actuarial Pricing Manager, Capital Solutions Job Description Capital Solutions is the newest line of business that Pacific Life Re will be offering to support clients. We are offering financial reinsurance to clients to enhance their balance sheet, either through access to trapped capital, reduction to earnings volatility or new business financing. The Pricing team is responsible for carrying out a risk assessment of each deal, alongside proposing appropriate pricing levels to cover this risk. They will also contribute to the decision-making process for the structuring of the deals. Given this is a new line of business, this role will be helping to set up processes and best practices whilst we form and implement our strategy. This will cover a range of products across the world, and the team will work in conjunction with the Protection and S&R teams to offer a fully comprehensive product suite to clients. Key responsibilities Risk Assessment & Pricing

Conduct detailed assessments of potential opportunities considering factors such as deal attractiveness, counterparty creditworthiness, market conditions, and regulatory requirements. Develop and apply pricing methodologies to determine appropriate pricing levels for each deal, ensuring profitability is aligned with risk exposure. Collaborate with the wider Capital Solutions / PL Re team to structure deals that meet clients' needs and align with PL Re risk appetite. Process & Assumption Development

Contribute to the development of best practices, pricing guidelines, and risk appetite frameworks for the Capital Solutions business. Assist in building and maintaining pricing models and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Support in the setting of the capital basis for different risk types, markets, and transactions. Business Analysis & Support

Keep abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to identify potential opportunities. Work alongside the wider PL Re teams to report on our risk appetite and limits. Qualifications & Experience

Strong technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with a wide range of data sets and information. Qualified actuary with a number of years of post-qualified experience. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively explain new concepts to stakeholders and collaborate with other teams around the business. Ability to work independently in a flexible, dynamic team with occasional high-pressure deadlines. Pricing experience in the European or Asian markets and/or prior experience within a FinRe team is desirable. A strong understanding of capital, financial accounting, balance sheets, and regulatory frameworks is desirable.
