Description
Due to recent, continued growth, Security Focus Ltd are looking to employ a new apprentice Fire and Security engineer! The successful individual will get the opportunity to work for an established employer, and over the course of 3 years, will learn and grow within the industry - eventually becoming a multi-disciplined engineer.
As a Fire and Security Engineer, you will be learning about, and working on, installing, repairing and maintaining the following fire and security equipment:
CCTV Intruder alarms Access control Door entry Fire alarms Entry requirements
Desired skills/qualities:
Must hold a valid UK driver's license OR live in Stevenage for local pick up if you cannot drive Ideally live within 10-15 miles of Stevenage Ideally have some experience with electrics, or hold an electric-related qualification Genuine interest in learning more about the fire and security industry Technically minded with decent IT skills Comfortable with travelling to Watford training centre 1 week in every 8 weeks for block release classroom training Training to be provided
Skills for Security will deliver the Level 3 apprenticeship.
You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre, and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company requires you to complete.
Things to consider
The apprenticeship is 36 months and full commitment is required throughout the duration of your studies.
Training is delivered via block release every 1 week in every 8 weeks at the Watford training centre.
The first year of this role pays £7.55p/h - it goes up to National Minimum Wage by age group in year 2.
Min 30 hours per week work.
