About the role - Teaching Assistant - Sutton

It is essential for a Teaching Assistant to have previous experience supporting children who are at a lower level of ability either 1:1 or in small groups. It is important for a Teaching Assistant to have good Maths skills as there will be times when you will be running or supporting small groups of children who need extra support with their Maths and English skills. It is your responsibility as a Teaching Assistant to assist the class teacher in preparing the work for the class as well as to manage the classroom behaviour on a daily basis. You will set up the classroom to ensure it's ready for learning. Teaching Assistants should have a thorough understanding of special needs as they will be supporting students with special needs in their learning.
