COST MANAGER | CLIENT SIDE DERBYSHIRE Up to £50,000 per annum Capstone Recruitment are looking for a Cost Manager to join a thriving global retail brand. You would join a well-established team who are currently providing in-house commercial consultancy services across the brand's international portfolios of new and existing stores. The role will provide exciting travel to various sites across Europe which is fully paid for by the business. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a cost consultancy environment on multiple projects, ideally with some retail experience in refit and/or new store development. RESPONSIBILITIES Support the UK & EU Refit pipeline across all Store Development activity. Support with the management of external QS support service, assuring that external cost consultants undertake duties stipulated in their fee agreements and schedule of works to optimise value and operational efficiencies. Lead the supply chain to deliver better cost outcomes across all group construction & fit out activity. Work collaboratively with specification and procurement colleagues to drive costs down Apply cost control techniques to manage a capital out-turn. Refine the cost approval process including post-contract variations and change control for all capital construction and refurbishment programmes. Manage the Reporting, Validation & Tracking measures toward savings targets. EXPERIENCE A Degree in Quantity Surveying, and 3-5 years of experience in Cost Management. Working towards MRICS chartership. An in-depth experience of projects exceeding £1m. Sound knowledge of legal and contractual frameworks. Experience of all RIBA stages of the design process from conception through to delivery. Detailed experience of Retail Construction coupled with good understanding of Building Regulations and Compliance. Thorough knowledge of architectural drawings and specifications for construction cost document production. Must have a high level of financial appraisal skill. Knowledge of shop-fit standards, details, and construction. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and trouble shoot during a project. Ability to travel globally when required.
