We are currently recruiting for Nursing Assistants in the St Helens and Knowsley locality. Our mental health inpatient services cater to adults with severe mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety, alongside people experiencing episodes of mental health crisis. Main duties of the job
To carry out assigned duties, involving direct care and observation of service users under the guidance and indirect supervision of qualified staff. To report to qualified staff any observations made whilst providing care to service users, including details of mental state and risk factors. To work with service users on an individual and group basis as outlined in the care plan and as directed by the appropriate named lead professional. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Under the direction of the qualified practitioner, participate in the delivery of planned care for allocated service users. The post holder will undertake a range of assigned duties which include: Assist in the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual care of service users under the supervision of a registered nurse. Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated. Help with the involvement of service users and carers/relatives in the delivery of care. Assist in providing care and support to service users with a range of personal needs, including hygiene/dressing and dietary support. Complete physical observations and report the results. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent medical and psychiatric emergency situations. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills when interacting with service users. Report appropriate observations and any concerns regarding service user care to the qualified practitioner. Understand and adhere to Trust policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines. Work with intermittent, direct supervision, reporting to and seeking advice from a registered professional. Person specification
