Butler Rose is exclusively supporting a fast-growing ethical property development company to find a Financial Controller.

This role offers unique exposure to the mechanics of a high-growth start-up environment and close involvement in investor relations, making it ideal for a proactive finance professional looking to make a significant impact.

This position is working predominantly remotely, with one day per week in the Bristol office.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive the finance department's processes, procedures, and compliance, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Monitor and project cash flow, managing resources for optimal financial health. Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely manner. Manage payroll processes and employee benefits. Prepare quarterly management accounts (moving to monthly) and analyse actuals versus budgets and forecasts. Produce detailed performance reports in both Excel and Procore for management insights. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records in Xero. Work with external accountants on statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and R&D claims. Assist the Finance Director/CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining strong investor relations.

The successful candidate is likely to be fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with 4+ years of experience in accounting and Finance. You will need a growth mindset and be hungry for personal and business growth. An accounting practice background would also be beneficial.
