Our client, an awarding-winning waste management operator, is looking to recruit a Special Events Sales Manager. Working as part of a proactive and friendly sales team, you will manage and target waste management contracts for a diverse portfolio of special events, from major sporting competitions through to peak-summer festivals. You will build on existing relationships to secure repeat business, target new clients, manage your own time and diary, and ensure events run smoothly and profitably.

Main duties:

Promote, sell and develop services, including delivering presentations and completing tenders. Attend site visits to provide guidance on complex enquiries/issues. Work closely with operational teams to ensure smooth delivery of waste containers and high service levels. Drive recycling and segregation at events to help customers achieve their waste management goals.

Candidate requirements: Ideally educated to minimum A-level (or equivalent) standard or above. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of waste management. Previous sales/account management experience in the waste management sector. Previous experience of successfully selling up to board level. Confident 'can do' attitude and passion for sales. Ability to work professionally and to prioritise within a busy working environment. Well-presented and capable of negotiating confidently. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong team player, with the ability to work on own initiative. Understand the importance of excellent customer service. Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Full UK driving licence.

Working hours:

9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri; however, you may, on occasion, be required to attend weekend events. The role will be based at the company's offices near Maidenhead with the potential for hybrid working.
