The Opportunity
To co-ordinate all mechanical engineering functions in pre & post contract award and achieve a successful outcome technically and commercially to the clients' requirements on the project.
What you will be doing
To comply with the company Process Document.
To comply with company Health, Safety & Environmental Systems.
Technically vet all procurement packages.
Co-ordinate the services for their proper integration into the Treatment works and liaise with other disciplines.
Oversee the production of all drawings including plant and sub-contract layouts to ensure co-ordination.
Provide support to the Project Quantity Surveyor on commercial matters.
Undertake & manage all labour/direct material matters.
Undertake a regular audit of the Productivity Scheme & ensure the same is completed with the Foreman/Site Agent.
Maintain accurate records of labour and material elements used in the pre-fabricated sections of the project.
Provide support to the Site Agent/general foreman on any installation matters.
With the Site Manager, carry out regular Sub-Contract Project Reviews to plan, progress and monitor installations.
Represent the company on any internal and external issues.
Project Review Monthly.
Sub-Contract Reviews Monthly.
Overall responsibility for working with our respective designer and suppliers to successfully deliver all mechanical requirements across a project portfolio.
What we will need from you
Possess relevant CSCS card.
SMSTS Qualification, SSSTS Minimum.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years working within a similar role.
Be Diploma or Degree qualified.
Technical knowledge of Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Water & Waste Water Operations.
Industry experience in a similar role.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills who can multi-task and consistently meet challenging deadlines.
Commercially astute.
Experience of both pre-production and production mechanical project engineering desirable.
Has an appreciation of MMC, Lean Construction, Agile Programme Management, Production Thinking and other techniques that assure programme, cost and quality performance.
Programme focused with an ability to plan and organise resources both off and on site to deliver on time and in full.
First Aid at work.
Appropriate IT skills including the use of company software packages.
Communicates with colleagues and clients in a warm and persuasive way both formally and informally. Alters style and method to suit audience.
