The role of Senior Practitioner Psychologist in Community Urgent Care Pathways (Home Treatment Team and Mental Health Liaison) offers opportunities to work across clinical severity and a range of settings. This is the first post to offer a pathway view across these teams and aims to support residents and teams to have a more seamless experience of care. The post holder will provide high-quality psychological care for those in crisis, as well as those who are experiencing a mental health need in the context of a physical health condition. The role requires working across mental health and physical health multidisciplinary teams, holding holistic care as the goal in supporting client needs. This role requires excellent communication skills to liaise with teams both in the acute and community settings to support smooth transitions. Main duties of the job

Support psychological provision in the mental health liaison service and home treatment team and supervise qualified and training psychologists, and MDT professionals as appropriate. Work with the lead psychologist on service development with fellow mental health liaison/home treatment leads to ensure that the service meets local needs and national objectives. Offer training and consultation to MDT professionals in community teams (Liaison/HTT) and acute hospital staff as appropriate. Work as part of the Transitions services and Clinical Health Services, engaging with peers to support each other and the shared vision for the directorate. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and rapport building. Maintain holistic views of clients' needs and share this with other professionals to support positive outcomes. Be mindful of language and process when working across settings to support psychological thinking and ethical practice. You will receive support from your Clinical Health and Transitions Psychologists in Mid, South and West Essex. Supervision will be provided by the Head of Clinical Health Psychology and the Head of Transitions Psychology. There are direct peers in Home Treatment Team in Mid and South Essex and in Liaison in Basildon, Southend, Broomfield, and Harlow. CPD is actively encouraged, through both internal and external means, as appropriate to the post. About us

This ensures that effective, tailored, evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions are delivered to service users and their families. This includes delivering NICE-recommended interventions for issues that clients present in crisis - such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc. It involves working with teams offering supervision, consultation, and training to develop quality psychologically informed care. Qualifications

HCPC registered psychologist Experience in the NHS/or equivalent Further training in a specific modality/course appropriate to the post Skills & Knowledge

Experience in mental health settings in the NHS/or equivalent Experience in physical health settings in the NHS/or equivalent Experience in MDT settings Experience working with clients in crisis or with highly emotive experiences Experience of supervising Experience of teaching/training Experience in mental health liaison/HTT or similar Demonstrates understanding of trauma frameworks Experience supervising MDT professionals Experience using a range of therapeutic models and demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in at least one Engagement

Desire to work in mental health liaison/HTT settings Desire to work with difference and diversity in all areas of work Engagement in reading or courses in working in health settings or with related client groups Disclosure and Barring Service Check
