To have overall responsibility for the operational management and clinical service delivery for Ward 6B - Renal. Provide specialist renal nursing care and expertise, both in delivering direct patient care and in support of other staff caring for the needs of our Renal inpatients. Providing appropriate intervention, support and clinical expertise to deliver a safe clinical pathway that promotes high quality care through role modelling, expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing education. Promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols and guidelines. Accountable for the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures at ward/ department level, through ongoing vigilance by ensuring delivery of all aspects of the Infection Control Strategy. Provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff. To be a highly skilled clinical expert with specialised knowledge in caring for patients with complex needs. Registered General Nurse with evidence of current registration with NMC Have a Nursing Degree or equivalent experience and 5 year's postregistration experience. Post registration experience in renal care including Acute Kidney Injury, Chronic and End Stage Renal Failure, Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis and Transplantation Relevant renal experience at Band 6 or equivalent within Renal Logical and consistent work and career pattern.
