Stockport, Greater Manchester About Us Our primary SEMH school in Stockport provides a supportive and nurturing environment for children with additional social, emotional, and mental health needs. We are committed to helping every child grow academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to succeed. The Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils, teachers, and the wider school team to provide tailored support to children with SEMH needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to foster positive relationships, promote emotional well-being, and encourage academic progress in a specialist setting. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with SEMH needs on a one-to-one or small-group basis, adapting to their individual requirements. Assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons under the guidance of the class teacher. Help manage challenging behaviours with patience, empathy, and consistency. Promote pupils' confidence, independence, and social skills through positive reinforcement and encouragement. Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to support each child's development. Contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive school environment. Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH or additional needs, is highly desirable. Resilient:
