Willowbrook Mead Primary Academy currently has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Classroom Manager, providing supervision across the curriculum in the event of teacher absence. Ensuring pupils are engaged in pre-set work, managing pupil behaviour, and ensuring a safe environment.
Job Overview
In the absence of a teacher, you will be responsible for overseeing a lesson, ensuring pupil engagement with the assigned activities. You will communicate with teachers and other staff regarding lesson preparations and be adequately equipped to supervise effectively. Feedback should be provided to teachers about pupil engagement and any issues encountered during the lessons. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining a safe learning environment aligned with lesson plans, supporting additional duties as needed, and maintaining accurate electronic records of pupil progress. Effective behavior management in the classroom is essential, guided by the academy’s behavior policies. While the primary responsibilities are outlined, it is acknowledged that additional tasks may arise that are not explicitly listed.
Job Requirements
GCSE English and Maths (A*-C) or equivalent (level 2 Basic Skills Literacy/Numeracy) (Essential).
Numerate and literate to a high standard to support learning (Essential).
Degree/NVQ 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
Experience of delivering pre-planned lessons to a class/group of children.
Commitment to removing barriers to learning and supporting behaviour.
Organised and efficient with good time management.
Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
Able to work as part of a team.
