Head of Department/Line Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Art Teacher to join our dynamic and creative department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring art lessons to students across Key Stages 3-5. They will be expected to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their artistic skills, knowledge, and appreciation. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective art lessons that meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND. Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, experimentation, and risk-taking. Develop and assess student work effectively, providing constructive feedback to support student progress. Prepare students for GCSE Art and Design, A Level Art and Design. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities, open evenings, and school events. Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities. Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment. Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues. Promote and support the school's values and ethos. Essential Skills and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Proven experience of teaching Art to secondary school students. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for art education. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in a range of art and design techniques. Experience of using ICT in the teaching and learning of Art. Commitment to professional development. Desirable Skills and Experience: Experience of teaching GCSE Art and Design, A Level Art and Design. Experience of working with students with SEND. Experience of using a variety of assessment methods. Experience of leading extra-curricular art clubs or activities. Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic, creative, and inspiring. Patient, supportive, and approachable. Team player with a positive and proactive attitude. Committed to providing the best possible education for all students.
