Ecologist Job in Winchester, Hampshire
Ecologist job available with a growing multidisciplinary consultancy based in Winchester covering projects across the South. The position provides the opportunity to be part of an employee-owned consultancy that offers career progression, hybrid & flexible work, as well as involvement in local projects across the region.
This employee-owned consultancy provides a variety of services, including Planning, Urban Design, Ecology, and Architecture. Whether delivering individual services or an integrated solution, the team has built strong relationships with key clients in the local market.
Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to grow their ecology team by appointing an experienced ecologist who has experience with BNG, habitat surveys, and working within a multidisciplinary team.
Role & Responsibilities
Involvement in fieldwork through to final reporting stages
Conduct ecological appraisals and phase 1 bat surveys
Liaise with clients on small/medium scale projects
Complete Biodiversity Net Gain assessments for projects across the region
Travel to sites in the South, typically Hampshire, Berkshire, and Dorset
Work closely with architects and planners on relevant issues.
Required Skills & Experience
Prior experience working as an Ecologist, ideally within a multidisciplinary consultancy
Client-facing and project management experience
Experience completing protected species surveys, holding a bat or great crested newt licence
BNG experience
Full UK Driving licence and access to a car
Degree qualified in a relevant subject area and associate member of CIEEM, desirable.
