Job Overview INTERNAL VACANCY An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Princess Royal Hospital Operating Theatres for the position of Theatre Department Manager. The successful applicant will be a current clinical specialist in the field of peri-operative nursing/operating department practice. The post holder will take responsibility for the overall management of the peri-operative teams and the theatres at The Princess Royal Hospital, ensuring clinical management to the highest possible standard for all relevant personnel within the theatre environment. To apply for this position, you must be either HCPC or NMC registered with experience at a Band 6 level or equivalent. The post holder will primarily work Monday to Friday office hours but will participate in out of hours working to support service delivery. Main Duties of the Job The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing and forward planning of all aspects of the theatre teams and list co-ordination. The post holder will line manage the perioperative team and provide skilled specialist assistance in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care throughout the Operating Department. They will participate as an integral member of the Theatre team, giving leadership and guidance to staff while maintaining clinical skills within the Department. The post holder will support the Theatre team to deliver the highest standards of patient care and monitor the quality of patient experience across all Theatres. The post holder will ensure the Theatre department continues to create a culture where patient safety, in particular risk management, is perceived as essential to the care and wellbeing of patients and staff. The post holder will work closely with the Theatre Matron to ensure the delivery of the highest standards of patient care.
