About the Role We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our Estimating Department. Based near Hornchurch, this role offers a flexible work environment, with opportunities to work from home and occasional site visits.

Role Overview:

As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the successful delivery of construction projects. Your expertise will play a crucial role in project planning, budgeting, and bidding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Consult with clients, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and cost-effectiveness. Identify and quantify cost factors, such as materials, labour, and time. Prepare and submit tenders and proposals within specified deadlines. Collaborate with the project team to ensure estimates align with project goals. Monitor project costs and provide updates to stakeholders as needed.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably within [residential/commercial/industrial] construction. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry practices. Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Cost, etc.). Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Relevant qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field.
