The Merchandising Team are responsible for the planning and stock management of Paul Smith products across all channels and markets. In this role you will oversee the Womenswear Collection and ensure significant decisions are reviewed and signed off as needed. You will be responsible for ensuring each product is traded to its best potential from budgeting and range review to clearance. You will also use all relevant expertise to meet financial targets and to guarantee optimum stock flow, ensuring the critical path is maintained and followed at all times.
Please note, this is a temporary maternity cover contract. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
The Role
Utilise knowledge of both internal and external trends and factors ensure all financial targets and objectives are understood and met, including sales, margin and stock. Review and manage stock and financials on a rolling basis and flag or action any concerns immediately. Prepare a budget plan for the seasonal buys and see the full process through. Liaise with Production and the Warehouse on deliveries to keep track of stock. Ensure all relevant reporting is run and kept up to date. Make sure sales run smoothly and stock is effectively liquidated whilst maintaining margin. Regularly review store replenishment levels to ensure shops are supported with the right stock levels. Identify and action regular stock movements and consolidations to ensure that stock is in the right place at the right time. Ensure stock is sat within its correct inventories and work with your Outlet counterparts to allow for a smooth transition. Ensure all stock have the correct attributes attached to them. Work with IT and Production to correct any errors and amend if needed. Have regular communication with Shop Managers to understand local needs and feedback. Your Skills And Experience Previous credible experience in Retail and Merchandising. Ideally a minimum of two years’ experience in a Merchandising Assistant role. Advanced Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel covering pivot tables, V-lookups etc. Credible experience of the lifestyle market both nationally and internationally. Competent at accurately in-putting data, reporting and financial analysis. Able to identify target customer groups and apply to long term strategies. Proven experience of working in a busy environment. Who You Are Have a strong interest in fashion, current trends, and people. An awareness of the broader fashion and lifestyle market.
