The role would be to work as part of a team supporting clinical and non-clinical users throughout the trust in their use of all IDT services and where appropriate offering advice and support to the user.
Act as deputy for the Network Manager. Provide expert guidance to Network Engineers, Network Manager, and stakeholders. Investigate a range of complex IDT issues. Follow the relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices.
Main duties of the job We are looking for previous experience of working in a high demanding environment with excellent communication skills and to be able to work well as part of a team.
Previous experience of clinical information systems would be a definite advantage.

Person Specification Education
Educated to degree level in a computing/engineering/technical discipline, or Network related qualification (CCNA)
Minimum 2 years' experience working with Cisco Networks
CCNP Certified
Knowledge Software Defined Networking (SDA/ACI)
SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE
Specialist knowledge of Cisco Routers and switches
Knowledge of Cisco WAN/LAN topologies & protocols
Effective problem solving skills and ability to solve complex logical faults
Firewall experience (such as Cisco, Palo-Alto, Forcepoint)
WiFi experience (Aruba, Cisco etc) Backup and Recovery systems
NHS and private sector network application knowledge - HSCN
Knowledge of Network Monitoring Software: SolarWinds Orion, Cisco ISE, Kiwi Log
Experience
Demonstrable experience of in-depth working within an IDT environment using Cisco wired and wireless technologies
Experience of planning and installing LAN/WAN networks
Configuration and deployment of Cisco Catalyst Switches e.g 9500/9300 3850/3750 switches and wireless Access Points
Site to Site VPN
Experience working in Software Defined Network
Backups, scheduling and prioritising, data and disaster recovery, and business continuity
To be able to plan and implement IT projects in conjunction with IT and non-IT staff.
