Are you someone who enjoys paying close attention to detail, is process driven and has experience of managing people and procedures in a technical and quality assured environment?

We are looking for a motivated and innovative team leader to manage a team of Fingerprint Enhancement Officers. The team works in a laboratory environment using specialist techniques to enhance, develop and retrieve fingerprints on items recovered from crime scenes to enable the identification of individuals. Although the work is mainly undertaken within the laboratory, you may be deployed to crime scenes where the application of specialist techniques is required to support the investigation process.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff and resources, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of a quality assured operational capability that is compliant with the Forensic Science Regulators Code and relevant ISO standards.

Essential Qualifications Educated to QCF Level 4 in a science subject or significant work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

You must have good eyesight, i.e., at least 6/36 uncorrected vision.

COSHH and/or NEBOSH trained or other relevant Health and Safety training or experience would be useful.

Essential Experience Post-qualification work experience in a relevant environment e.g., education/hospital/laboratory or similar.

Demonstrated ability to handle exhibits without destroying forensic evidence which may be present.

Experience working with chemicals in a safety-conscious environment.

Familiarity with dealing with a large volume of work under time pressure.
