To assist the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the provision of the day care for children of staff working at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and to deputise for the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager. Main duties of the job

Active member of the team in providing a safe, stimulating and emotionally safe environment for children aged 6 months to 5 years. To adhere to Nursery, Ofsted, EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) National Curriculum and The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, and Behaviour Management Policy. Take a lead role in the base room including mentoring/leading nursery assistants and students. To supervise children at all times, in all areas. Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values. Education & professional Qualifications

Minimum of Level 3 Childcare qualification (NNEB, NVQ, CACHE or equivalent). Paediatric First Aid Certificate. Experience

Extensive experience working with children in a Nursery setting. Supervising children in a room. Experience of working as part of a team and independently. Good understanding of the EYFS, the Statutory Framework and the 7 areas of learning. To promote inclusion, equality and individuality within the setting. Good awareness of Safeguarding Children. Understanding of Health and Safety and Practical Hygiene. Understanding of food hygiene and healthy eating. Skills and aptitudes

Be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Basic IT skills. Confident in communicating with parents/carers, children, and others as required. Personal Qualities & attributes

Able to remain calm and professional under pressure. Willing to learn and develop. Be adaptable and flexible. Others

To cover all sites as needed. Be able to cover varying shifts to ensure ratios are met. To perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Nursery Manager. Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £31,081 to £33,665 a year per annum inclusive of HCAS.
