About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior Social Worker to join the Urgent care, Adults Social Care team in the role of manager. The role requires 3 years’ experience of supervising and/or management of staff within a social care setting and is key to the development of a high performing social care team that works effectively with customers and other agencies. We are looking for candidates with a sound knowledge of legislation relevant to the post and extensive awareness of the issues facing Adults with care and support needs, their carers and families.
The position provides the opportunity to work with Adults and families and the postholder will hold responsibilities such as allocating the work of the team, chairing strategy meetings, supervision of staff and deputising for the Service Manager. The post has an important function in the development of the quality and performance of the team, focusing on outstanding practice, and ensuring best outcomes for customers.
About you
You will have a value base that promotes effective Social Work practice and teamwork.
You will have knowledge and skills that support team members to develop a strengths based approach to their practice and be committed to their Continuing Professional Development.
3 years plus experience of working in Adult Services Social Care setting as a senior practitioner.
Experience of undertaking safeguarding processes.
Experience of providing professional supervision to seniors, social workers and social care assessors.
Previous management experience.
Detailed working knowledge and experience of working in Adult Social Care.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the legislation, regulations and guidance relating to Adult Social Care.
You will have experience in multi-disciplinary working with adults presenting with care and support needs, and qualities for strong leadership.
You will be experienced in managing conflicting priorities and making quick, evidence based decisions and risk assessments in a broad range of situations.
You will have a recognized registered professional qualification in social work e.g CQSW, CSS, DipSW, Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
You will have evidence of continued professional and personal development.
Applicants should be registered with Social Work England.
DBS is required.
