An exciting opportunity has become available for newly qualified nurses and social workers in Ealing Southall MINT. You will be supported through either a preceptorship programme (nurses). This role is perfect for nurses that are keen to learn new skills quickly and advance their careers to become a Band 6 worker. You will be joining at an exciting time as we transform our services following the Community Mental Health Framework, which represents a new approach to providing integrated support, care, and treatment in the community for people with mental health problems, whatever their level of need. Community mental health nurses/social workers play a key role in dissolving barriers that can exist between mental health and physical health, social care, voluntary and community social enterprise (VCSE), and local communities. You will be working in primary and secondary care to deliver integrated, personalised, place-based, and well-coordinated care for adults and older adults. We are moving towards a 'whole system' of mental health care, providing timely access to support, care, and treatment. Main Duties of the Job
We need Community Mental Health Nurses to support people with mental health needs in accessing care where and when they need it and to help them move through the system easily. This role involves supporting individuals to manage their problems and move towards individualised recovery on their own terms, surrounded by their families, carers, and social networks, and supported in their local community. We need Community Mental Health Nurses who can help individuals contribute to and participate in the communities that sustain them, to whatever extent is comfortable for them. About Us

Qualifications and Training
Professional qualification in mental health - Mental Health Nursing (RMN) with current NMC registration Post qualification experience is not required. Educated to degree or diploma level with other courses relevant to primary care mental health services (e.g., CBT, Brief Solution Focused Therapy) Evidence of recent and ongoing relevant further professional development Experience
Demonstrable experience of post-qualifying work in psychiatry. Experience of supervising junior staff within own and/or other disciplines Other relevant post-registration experience Audit and research experience Experience of teaching/training in a formal or informal setting Experience of working in a primary care setting/social care/voluntary sector Knowledge
Knowledge of counselling skills/cognitive behavioral skills and psychosocial interventions Knowledge of recovery approaches used with those with mental health conditions Ability to interpret research and apply it to practice Specialist knowledge of mental health conditions and their relationship to physical disorders Assessment and treatment of deliberate self-harm Risk assessment/management and crisis intervention skills Use of psychosocial assessment methods Ability to engage challenging and/or acutely distressed patients in potentially hostile situations and use de-escalation techniques effectively Higher level communication skills, both written and oral Sufficient clinical knowledge to make autonomous decisions, based on an analysis of complex presenting problems and judgment about available options, with senior clinical support/supervision Team/self-management and organization skills that enable a number of complex activities and clinical work to be undertaken, revising and adjusting these according to the needs of individual patients and the service Personal Qualities
Ability to frequently work under pressure and maintain intense concentration, particularly in unpredictable situations with exposure to highly distressed and/or disturbed patients, often exhibiting challenging behaviors and the risk of physical violence Ability to meet deadlines Commitment to equal opportunities Ability to accept constructive feedback Self-motivated, able to work autonomously and independently with confidence when required Exercise initiative, flexibility, tact, and self-awareness Willing to use peer and group supervision creatively Ability to work flexibly if required Disclosure and Barring Service Check
