It will be a hands-on role looking after the day-to-day running of a busy landfill site and a recycling facility. The role will include office-based duties ensuring compliance with company procedures and also a presence is required onsite to control site operations and contractors and the ability to assist when necessary to cover for staff absence. Your core responsibilities. Plan and manage environmental compliance requirements and waste operations in collaboration with the Site Manager and Regional General Manager. Oversee daily operations of the Landfill site, ATRF, and other associated areas, ensuring adherence to Site Permit and Planning Permission conditions. Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, relevant legislation, and Company procedures, managing traffic, pest control, litter, dust, odour, and other site amenities. Maintain a planned preventative maintenance schedule, monitor plant checks, and update the training matrix for plant operators. Coordinate and manage contractors on-site, conducting inductions, safety planning, and issuing permits to work. Promote a safety culture, including accident and near miss reporting, participating in investigations, health and safety committees, and audits. Manage customer relations and liaise with customers and their representatives. Carry out monthly compliance checks, maintain plant records, attend SIT meetings in the Site Manager's absence, and complete monthly reports, including Bsafe, compliance checks, and waste returns to the Environment Agency.
