About the Role
Prime Workforce is currently recruiting for a Graduate Roads Engineer to join BEAR Scotland's team. Based in their North West Network team, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to contribute to road maintenance and improvement projects while receiving training and development in all aspects of road engineering.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Roads Engineer, you will:
Assist in the Design and Maintenance of Roads:
Support senior engineers in the design, maintenance, and upgrading of road infrastructure projects, including the preparation of technical reports, designs, and plans. Survey and Inspection Support:
Participate in road condition surveys, inspections, and assessments to identify issues and propose solutions. Assist in Project Management:
Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of road maintenance and improvement projects, including liaising with contractors and suppliers. Compliance and Standards:
Assist in ensuring compliance with technical standards and guidelines related to road design, construction, and maintenance. Collaboration:
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients. Document Management:
Assist in the production and management of project documentation, ensuring proper record-keeping and version control.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will bring: Qualifications:
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Technical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of road design and construction principles, and a willingness to develop expertise in road infrastructure. Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams. Problem-Solving Ability:
An analytical approach to problem-solving with attention to detail. Adaptability:
A proactive, flexible attitude and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. Driving Licence:
A valid UK driving licence is desirable.
