Fairmead are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a valued client, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing business based in Newmarket. This is an ideal role for someone seeking to progress their career within a supportive, family-run company with ambitious plans for the future.

The Role:

As Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working across a variety of projects, including refurbishments, renovations, and new builds, with typical project values ranging from £500k to £5m. Operating in the commercial, residential, leisure, education, and restoration sectors, this role offers a fantastic mix of challenges and opportunities to showcase your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing all commercial aspects of projects, from initial cost plans through to final accounts. Preparing tender documents, cost reports, and contract valuations. Carrying out site visits and assessing works to ensure accurate valuations. Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations. Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to a high standard. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Monitoring cash flow and financial forecasts to protect margins.

About You:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within refurbishment, renovation, or new build projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT forms of contract. Excellent commercial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable projects. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and subcontractors. Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
